Centerboro's Old Main Street, Looking West at Night

July 1, 2006

Estne confectum? Nuncine applaudo? Yes, indeedy, and this is my farewell message. As of July 1, 2006, I retired as the author of Mr. Eha's Place for the most part owing to the absence of an audience large enough for me to justify spending any more time and money to keep the site going. I base this conclusion on the results of a survey I floated by the membership of the official Friends of Freddy Yahoo group. It's still at the bottom of Picture Page 37, but for historical purposes only.

In any case (and for whatever other reason or reasons), Mr. Eha's Place was dismantled on 7/1/06. If you are reading this now, you are either viewing an archived version on the Internet or looking through the final CD version, in which case I congratulate you on being a recipient of one of the few copies of the final CD produced by Eha Industries for a small, discriminating group of Freddy the Pig and Walter R. Brooks fans. I hope you enjoy it, though you must be reading this in your browser to make use of the many links contained herein...some of which I'm sure will become more and more outdated and useless as the years go on.

For your information, here is the text of the message I sent to the FoF maillist to announce the end of Mr. Eha's Place as it existed until July 2006.

Dear FOF Maillist Members,

I regret to say that there were so few "Continue" responses to my survey that I have taken the Mr. Eha's Place site down to save myself any further outlay of time and money on it.

My thanks to the Friends of Freddy Yahoo Group members who did respond. I hope you will not be too disappointed, for (as attributed to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry): "La perfection est atteinte non quand il ne reste rien à ajouter, mais quand il ne reste rien à enlever." (Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.) Mr. Eha's Place has indeed achieved the ultimate state of perfection.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to all the nice folks who have gotten in touch with me over the years as a result of having visited Mr. Eha's Place. Their comments, encouragement, and constructive criticism were significant factors in my keeping the site going as long as I did...some ten years or so, I believe.

Though the site has been dismantled, I intend to maintain the persona "Mr. Eha" for my own amusement, and I will make the occasional appearance on the Freddy-the-Pig maillist, perhaps in the newsletter, and maybe even at a Fiends (ooops...I mean Friends) of Freddy convention. ; )

And with that, I say BFN, and I remain, of course,
Your friend, Mr. Eha

And with that, I bid you good-bye from splendid Centerboro and always scenic Oteseraga County, New York.

And now a farewell word from Axon Spardoze,
Former Editor-in-Chief of EHA Industries Publications

Axon Spardoze, Editor-in-Chief

As peculiar as Edward is, it has nonetheless been a pleasure to assist him with the construction and maintenance of his Web site. We both hope you have enjoyed the show. So long!
